Born in another state: CLICK HERE to go to CDC, National Center for Health Statistics web page can get you a copy of a birth certificate from all other 49 states. When that page loads just follow the instructions.

Getting a Texas ID or Driver’s License

You need to schedule an appointment. You can visit online at: www.public.txdpsscheduler.com However, depending on the location it could take a month or more to get an appointment. You can fast-track a same day appointment.
Select the location near you, it will allow you to book the same day if opening is available.

Be sure you have all the necessary documents before you arrive:

  • Proof of Identity
  • Proof of U.S. Citizenship
  • Proof of Social Security Number
  • Proof of Residency in Texas
