Re-Entry Program

Working with the Mineral Well District Parole (part of TDCJ) and the orientation class they hold for every new parolee.

Several years ago, we were invited to be a part of this orientation. Our part is to identify resources that are available within the county where the returning citizen resides. A "resource" is identified as a ministry, business, government facility, church, counseling or family services, etc., that can assist them with the transition back home. We publish a resource booklet for each of the six counties and make them available during the orientation.

For example, we provide sections explaining the requirements and how to obtain a certified copy of their birth certificate, replacement Social Security card and getting a current driver's license. We also provide a list of organizations that offer food and clothing assistance.

Each resource found in our booklets has been contacted by toServe and the information is current and correct. This includes the churches listed in the first section of each booklet which provides service times and a contact name and phone number.
